As with anything involving your dog, it is best to check out the premises, bringing the dog to see the reaction he/she will have (noise might impact in some areas), and to see if you like the teaching methods.

Gale Marshall is the owner of Purely-Positive Dog-Training.
She uses positive reinforcement and the most modern techniques as her training methodology. Training has to be fun at both ends of the leash to be fully effective.

Bytown Dog Obedience is a non profit group dedicated to promoting responsible dog ownership with special emphasis on obedience training. The classes are in an industrial area, so if your dog gets skittish with noise, it might be worth a visit before committing to a class as money is not refundable.
Throughout the year they also host fun matches, show-n-go's, CCGC tests, obedience seminars, CKC sanctioned obedience Trials are held in May of each year.
They also host the HITS OF HITS..... where dogs who have accomplished High In Trials get to compete against each other.

At the CACB, they strive to utilize the most effective, humane training methods and to instill a strong, positive bond between the dogs and their owners. Carolyn Clark sold Carolark to 2 of her employees in 2010, and the quality of instruction has gone down and I can no longer recommend training there.
Established by Art Newman, it is the birthplace of agility in Canada.
If you have a dog who is a 'natural', and prefer to advance more quickly based on the dog and your ability, learning more about the equipment and agility as a whole, become a member of the All Dogs Sports Club. Great instructors, quality equipment and members who enjoy being part of the organization, you can't help but have fun, and learn more and more every class. ADSC hosts the K9-Kup every year.
Dreamfields is an Agility training center and a great place to learn agility. Positive reinforcement and making the lessons fun is paramount at Dreamfields. A great place to have fun with your dog.
It must be noted that you cannot advance quickly, skipping levels, as there are established steps that you must follow. It is a good place to start off.
Krazy Kanines offers mostly beginner courses, and when you get past that, you just go to the weekly practices.
If you don't have the energy for agility or the time for obedience, but have a dog that heels and knows basic obedience commands, you can do rally-O!
With Rally-O, you follow instructions on signs on the floor, and walk through the course doing the elements on the signs, and try to finish within the 3 or 4 minute time limit.
To find an instructor near you, Click here
In Rally-O, you CANNOT correct your dog..... but you can talk to him and reward him .... as long as it's positive and fun.
As is always the case, owners should visit each of the facilities and see which suits them best.
Note: this is the new site and as of June 30, 2007, not fully up and running, and it still has the garbage text so that the board could approve the look.
