MVD and snoring

I have spoken to vets and cardiologists and they don't believe there is a link between these two events.

In humans, snoring is often a precursor to heart disease, and based on this, I am asking for your input.

  1. If you have a Cavalier that already snores, and can remember the date it started, or
  2. If you have one who doesn't snore yet, I would like you mark the date it does start
  3. If you have a dog who doesn't snore but does have a murmur,

Please send me the following information:

  • Dog's full name (pedigree name) and call name
  • Date of birth
  • Sex
  • Colour
  • Date snoring/murmur started or was diagnosed

I will amass the information, but I will also need to know when the dog is diagnosed with MVD or shows any heart murmur. Send me the date and murmur level if and when this happens, with the above information (for verification purposes).

When I have gathered enough information, I will be happy to share this with the club and to any cardiologist who wants to examine the data.

The information is only as good as the sources and I hope you will be willing to help me with this.

You can email me the information to a special account just for this: snoring.cavaliers@gmail.com

or send by escargot mail to

I thank you for your co-operation.
